Expanded Broad Match Keywords in AdWords - Revealed

My search term, as you can see at the top of the graphic, was silent phone calls.

Google has EXPANDED my search term phone into telephone, which in this situation is not at all unreasonable, and may actually help me achieve my goals of more clicks, more visitors, and higher CTR and conversion.

However, that was not my original search term, and yet Google has not only displayed it, it has been bolded in the ad as well, to increase the chances of getting clicks.

Clicks mean Google gets paid. But do you?

In the right circumstances, Broad Match Keywords, and Expanded Broad Match, can be a goldmine of useful information you can capitalise on (but only if you know the two sources of how to discover it).

In the wrong circumstances, Broad Match, and Expanded Broad Match, could be hurting your campaigns.
