Silent Phone Calls on Sale Here for £50,000.00
What a great ad by Ask.com - just goes to show the silliness of automation at times!
In the News here in the UK at the moment is that Ofcom, the Telecom Regulator, has just fined Barclays the maximum amount possible under UK law of £50,000.00 GBP for making automated, silent phone calls also known as unsolicited calls, nuisance calls, or junk calls.
Ofcom actually wanted to fine them more!
Telemarketers making cold calls - BEWARE!
You can learn more about the Corporate Telephone Preference Service which makes unsolicited calls to Businesses illegal since June 2006 here, and here's a link to another useful telecoms site at www.businesstelecomservices.co.uk
