Irresponsible AdWords Advertising - Why I WON'T Run Your AdWords Campaigns
Jun 27th, 2008 | By David Rothwell | Category: Featured ArticlesEver been to a website and left without buying anything?
Thought so…
So if you are currently, or are considering, advertising online with Google AdWords, wouldn't you want to be confident that you were spending your daily budget getting visitors who are inclined to buy from you once they arrive?
Of course.
So, if I am going to run your AdWords Campaigns for you, and spend your money buying advertising space on Google, wouldn't it be my first responsibility to assess your website in terms of its ability to turn visitors into buyers?
Virtually anyone can send traffic with AdWords to any webpage in cyberspace, on demand, in a matter of minutes.
That's the easy part - within reason, and safely and cost-effectively, only when you know what you are doing.
However, the missing piece is getting the traffic to CONVERT.
Into an action you specify as valuable to you.
A download. A sign-up. An information request. A form filled in and submitted. A sale. And so on …
Without Conversion, your traffic (and AdWords advertising budget) is being wasted.
I have a saying:
"Traffic is For Show, CONVERSIONS are for DOUGH".
This is why I will not take on your AdWords Advertising responsibility if I think your website won't deliver the results you want.
If you're willing and able to make any changes I recommend, then we can talk further.
After all, if I spend your money, and you get no results, you'll leave me - right?
And that's not in our mutual interests.
Consider your AdWords Advertising agency to be your Business Partner - your Online Marketing Department.
And, if you're looking for help with your AdWords advertising, make sure that whoever you speak to wants to talk about your Website, and your Business - FIRST.
Next, that they ensure you have some means of tracking CONVERSIONS.
And that your website is visitor-friendly, easy to get around, has clear purpose, good content, clear and strong calls to action, and so on.
Or they are just a potentially useless traffic broker adding no value.
And you'll be wasting your money.
