Google and the Space Age

Jun 6th, 2008 | By David Rothwell | Category: ARTICLES

googlespaceage-255x170.jpgGoogle is already in the "virtual" space age by virtue of Google Earth,  now they are cementing a long term future on Earth itself by signing a 40 year lease on land owned by NASA.

Now at 19,126 employees (June 2008) and growing, the company is securing ever more physical real estate to cope with its long-term vision of growth.

It's a fascinating and probably highly profitable endeavour between companies pushing the boundaries of digital space (G) and physical space (N).

Building work is stated as expected to start in 2013. That's 5 years away from now.

Anyone dubious about the long-term future aspirations of Google - take note.
